A Daisy for Daisy - Pet Loss

As I was walking around the yard with my dogs on this beautiful chilly day, I looked down and there it was—a single daisy blooming in the chilly air. I planted these memorial flowers 4 years ago in memory of my sweet furkid, Daisy, who was actually my mom’s dog before she passed. Daisy was such a big part of our lives and, in a way, a piece of my mom that stayed with me. When Daisy passed, it felt like losing my mom all over again.

Every spring, these daisies start to bloom, and I can’t help but sit by them, smiling as I remember all the wonderful times we shared. Those memories bring me so much comfort. Sometimes, I shed a tear or two or a thousand, but mostly I feel like they’re both still here with me. Seeing these flowers reminds me that love stays with us in beautiful, small ways—even when things get tough.

There’s something special about planting flowers in memory of a loved one and watching them come up year after year. It brings a sense of peace and solace, even if just for a short time. So, as the weather cools, this little daisy feels like a gentle reminder from both my mom and Daisy that they’re never too far away.

If you’ve lost a loved one or pet, find something that helps you feel connected to them. Whether it’s planting flowers, keeping a small keepsake, or just taking a moment to remember, it can bring a lot of comfort. That little connection can be a powerful reminder that they’re always with you.

I just wanted to share a little with you about how I find peace and connection through the simplest thing—a single daisy blooming in memory of those I’ve loved and lost. It’s amazing how small gestures can bring so much comfort. I’d love to hear from you, too. Comment below and let us know how you find a connection with a loved one or furkid who has passed. Sometimes, sharing these little ways we remember can help us all feel a bit more connected. Pet loss is tough, they are apart of our family.

Many people search for the spiritual meaning of seeing a cardinal after someone dies.

Frequently Asked Questions About Seeing Cardinals

What does it mean when you see a cardinal after someone dies?

Many people believe that seeing a cardinal after someone dies is a comforting reminder that their loved one is still near. The bright red cardinal has become a symbol of love, hope, and remembrance. While it may simply be a beautiful moment in nature, many people feel that a cardinal’s appearance brings a sense of peace during times of grief.

Why are cardinals associated with loved ones who have passed away?

Cardinals are often connected with remembrance because they stay in the same area all year long and their bright red color stands out in nature. Over time, many people began to see them as a comforting symbol of loved ones who are watching over us. The well-known saying “When cardinals appear, angels are near” has helped strengthen this belief.

Is seeing a cardinal considered a sign from heaven?

For many people, seeing a cardinal feels like a small spiritual sign or message of comfort. While everyone interprets these moments differently, the appearance of a cardinal can bring peace and reassurance that love continues even after loss.

And truthfully? If seeing that bright red bird makes you feel like your loved one is saying hello, then hold onto that feeling. Don’t ever let someone take that comfort away from you. What you believe in your heart is what matters most.

Sometimes the smallest signs bring the greatest peace.
